This winter we are raising funds for Friends of the Elderly

This January and February, we’re proud to partner with Friends of the Elderly, raising vital funds to support their grant service which helps older people stay warm and well during the cold winter months. Read more here.

At our restaurants, you’ll find an Invisible Soup on the menu. While no soup will arrive at your table, your generous donation will go directly to this important cause, making a real difference for vulnerable people who need it most.

Iris, 73, a Friends of the Elderly grant recipient, says: “It’s a real situation, where you really do have to choose whether to eat or heat your home. I don’t know what I would have done without Friends of the Elderly, there was no one I could turn to for help. I am eternally grateful.”

Grace Harvey, Senior Brand & Communications Manager at The Evolv Collection:

“Winter can be especially tough for older people, with many struggling to afford food or heat their homes due to the loss of the winter fuel payment, rising energy costs and increasing council tax. Our Invisible Soup initiative with Friends of the Elderly allows us and our guests to make a meaningful difference, helping vulnerable people stay warm and cared for throughout these cold months.”

Mark Wilson, Interim co-Chief Executive at Friends of the Elderly says:

“We are delighted to have The Evolv Collection’s support this winter. Their customers’ donations will directly fund our grants service, helping older people in desperate financial need. For many, we are their last resort, and these contributions will make a real difference in their lives.”

Friends of the Elderly’s grants service provides essential support for older people living in poverty, including winter clothing and bedding for warmth, help affording heating costs including bills and fuel (oil and logs), boiler repairs and maintenance, cookers to make warm meals, heat appliances, carpets and flooring, and critical repairs like new windows and doors to stop drafts, insulation, damp proofing and roofing.

Book your table today and join us in making this winter a little warmer with Friends of the Elderly.

How much we raised:

We’re incredibly proud to have raised nearly £13,000 for Friends of the Elderly’s Winter Appeal through our Invisible Soup initiative in January and February.

Friends of the Elderly

Thanks to the generosity of our teams and guests, we’ve been able to make a real difference – helping vulnerable older people stay warm and cared for during the coldest months of the year. With the loss of the winter fuel payment, rising energy costs, and increasing council tax, many face the impossible choice between heating and eating. These donations have provided vital support when it’s needed most. Thank you to everyone involved in making this difference.

Tracey Franklin, the Grants Development Manager at Friends of the Elderly says:

“We are very grateful to everyone at The Evolv Collection for their amazing fundraising efforts this winter, thank you so much! Your donation will make an immediate difference to the lives of desperate older people and enable them to afford basic essentials to keep them warm and well, including help with fuel costs, boiler repairs, insulation, bedding and clothes.

As some of our grant recipients told us recently:

“Without the grant we would have no means to use the central heating or have hot running water” and “I cannot thank Friends of The Elderly enough for helping my wife and myself with new clothes and warm blankets as we did not have any spare money to buy these for ourselves. It has made a huge difference.”

Grace Harvey, Senior Brand & Communications Manager at The Evolv Collection:

“We’re so proud to support such a fantastic cause and to see the real impact Friends of the Elderly has on those in need. Everyone deserves to stay warm and well, especially during winter, and knowing that our fundraising has helped provide essentials like heating, hot water and warm clothing is incredibly rewarding. A huge thank you to our guests for their generosity and to our team for their engagement – it’s made a real difference.”
